Dham Tribe

The Dham tribe is an Arab tribe from the Hamdan tribes, residing in the southern Arabian Peninsula in Yemen, specifically in Al-Jawf Governorate. Some members of the Dham tribe hold Saudi and Qatari citizenship. The tribe is also known by the names "Red Dham" or "Dham of Bloodshed," a nickname derived from the numerous wars it has fought and its fierce battles.

Genealogy of the Dham Tribe

The Dham tribe traces its lineage to Dhamah ibn Shakir, the son of Rabi’ah ibn Al-Da’m ibn Malik ibn Mu’awiyah ibn Sa’ab ibn Doman ibn Bakil ibn Jashim ibn Khiran ibn Nawf ibn Bait’a ibn Zayd ibn Amr ibn Hamdan, who are descendants of Qahtan. It is said that their lineage can be traced back to the Prophet Hud (PBUH).
