Hatim al-Asamm was a righteous man with many children and very little wealth. He lived a simple life, owning only enough to meet the basic needs of his family.

One evening, he sat with his companions as they spoke about the virtues and rewards of Hajj. His heart became attached to the idea of visiting the Sacred House of Allah, and he longed to perform the pilgrimage.

When he returned home, he gathered his family and said:

"I have decided to perform Hajj this year. What do you think?"

Silence filled the house.

Everyone knew how difficult their financial situation was. They understood that his journey would leave the family facing even greater hardship.

While the adults worried about poverty and uncertainty, the answer came from the youngest member of the household.

It was his little daughter.

She raised her head and said with remarkable confidence:

"Father, go wherever you wish."

Then she added:

"You have never been our provider. Allah is the One who provides for us."

Simple words, yet they carried a profound truth.

Those words filled Hatim's heart with peace and certainty.

The next morning, he set out for Hajj, placing his trust entirely in Allah and leaving the affairs of his family in the hands of their Creator.

Days passed.

The family's situation became increasingly difficult, and some of their neighbors began criticizing them for allowing Hatim to travel despite their poverty.

Then one day, the governor of the region passed by their home with his soldiers and companions.

They were extremely thirsty.

They stopped at Hatim's house and asked for water.

Hatim's wife brought them water to drink.

After drinking, the governor asked:

"Whose house is this?"

They replied:

"This is the house of Hatim al-Asamm."

The governor asked:

"Where is he?"

They answered:

"He has gone on pilgrimage to the Sacred House of Allah."

The governor was impressed by what he heard about Hatim's character and righteousness.

Wanting to honor his family, he removed his valuable belt and placed it inside the house.

Then he turned to his companions and said:

"Whoever loves me should do the same."

One after another, the people around him began offering gifts and valuables.

Some gave money.

Others gave gold.

Others brought precious gifts.

Before long, the house was filled with provisions and wealth after its inhabitants had feared poverty and hardship.

When Hatim's little daughter saw what had happened, she began to cry.

Her family was surprised.

"This is a day of joy and relief," they said.

"Why are you crying?"

She replied with words that would be remembered for generations:

"If a single glance from a human being could enrich us after poverty, then what about the Lord of all worlds, who never forgets us and never neglects us?"

That was the true lesson of the story.

The provision did not come from the governor.

He was merely a means through which Allah brought relief.

The blessing came from Allah alone—the One who manages all affairs with wisdom and mercy, and who brings ease from places we could never imagine.

"And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then He alone is sufficient for him."
